Natural examples for plasmas are  stars and the sun – a gigantic plasma ball, lightning on Earth – temporary electrical discharges or in Northern lights.

COLD ATMOSPHERIC PLASMA (CAP)

Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) is ionised gas. The advantage of cold atmospheric plasmas is that they are “cold”, meaning that they operate under room temperature and can be produced at atmospheric pressure on Earth.

Generally, cold atmospheric plasma generates a reactive mix of electrons, ions, excited atoms and molecules, reactive species (e.g. O3, NO, NO2, etc.), UV radiation and heat.

Cold Atmospheric Plasma technology is a well known therapy in dermatology, where a special and strong plasma design works on the outer surface of the body (skin), and regenerates skin cells. Multiple researches are showing unlimited benefits of CAP for medical and wellbeing practices in cellular regeneration. However CAP particles are considerably large, therefore such plasma does not penetrate deep through the skin.
